WORKSHOP IN ALEXANDRIA , VA.
Moving Clients with Eating Disorders toward Recovery through Embodied Methods
Susan Kleinman, MA, BC-DMT, NCC, CEDS
Because people with eating disorders often create barriers toward connecting with feelings and thoughts that underlie their disorder, dance/movement therapy is a particularly effective treatment. Clinicians who rely primarily on traditional approaches can benefit from learning techniques stemming from this body based, experiential approach to develop a richer, more powerful treatment style. Teaching methods will include lecture, discussion and experiential exercises.
